Athletes First Consulting is brought to by Katherine Starr an accomplished swimmer, having competed in two Olympic Games 1984 and 1988 (Great Britain), won two silver medals at the Commonwealth Games (86). Katherine also has experienced success at the collegiate level: swimming for the University of Texas, participating on three NCAA championship teams and earning 14-time All-American honors and a National Title.

Katherine founded Athletes First Consulting to address the growing needs of athletes, when it comes to figuring out athletes rights. Also starting the non-profit Safe4Athletes which provides a comprehensive program of sports policies that are available free to any open amateur sports team in the USA or High School and University sports program. 

Katherine also writes on the Huffington Post to discuss some of the complex issues in sports that have plagued our legal system. She speaks on these same issues around the country educating on "in" justice in the system about the systemic nature of sexual abuse and abuse of power in the coaching profession and the on-going battle to help the public understand the coach - athlete relationship. These are just a few of the topics that Katherine has touched. Katherine has acted as an advocate for athletes involving coach sexual abuse, athlete on athlete sexual abuse, athlete cyber-bullying, athlete sexual hazing as well as many forms of athletic abuse in general. Since speaking up about abuse in sports, Katherine has developed a reputation of being an expertise on coach athlete sexual abuse.

Katherine has been on national TV and radio shows around the world to discuss the growing concerns of athletes abuse what needs to change to meet an athlete first philosophy.
